The Journey
Art and Archive of Angkarn Kallayanapong has been conceived and realized as a place dedicated to the collection, restoration, exhibition, and archiving of all of the artist’s various forms of artistic work: literary, painting, and traditional Thai murals. The mission of this institution is dedicated to educational and research endeavors, reference finding, and other related activities. The Archives has been established and managed by Angkarn’s offspring.
Nonetheless, this space, as the artist’s own past residence, has its own limitations in achieving its aim to display the entirety of the artist’s life and works. The displays are divided into five sections:
1) Literary works
2) Fine Art and Drawings
3) Conservation Works
4) Archival Papers and Objects: Significant documents and memoirs, letters, art equipment, daily tools and others.
5) A replica of Angkarn’s studio during his lifetime.
All sections are interconnected to each other with a through-line of content and narratives that have been arranged for the enhancement of visitors’ understanding and appreciation.. The archival management of the collections featured in this space has been based on best practices for data assessment and processing. These practices aim not only to make the artist and the organization’s mission and working structure visible, but also to reflect the social, economic, political, religious, and cultural contexts of the particular period(s) during which the displayed items were originally created and/or the documents were archived.
This website is the primary platform for presenting the information and all the artist’s archives. Kindly be informed you need to register by providing your name and email to access all the archives documents.
